New Kill Animations Revealed For 'Friday The 13th: The Game'

As we wrote about this past weekend, Gun Media and Illfonic attended a panel at PAX South last Friday to discuss the new Friday The 13th: The Game. Many topics were discussed, including game play, and new models were released of Jason from Friday The 13th Part 3! Other great information was revealed which included some rather brutal kill animations that fans of the films will sure be happy to read about.

According to the panel, here are some new and familiar kill scenarios that our readers can hope to see in the game.

Jason does the following:

- Drowns you in a toilet.

- Folds you in half using a beach chair.

- Rips the top of your skull off.

- Tears your leg off and walks away with it in hand.

- Curbstomps your back.

and of course....

- Smashes you against a tree in a sleeping bag

If any of you watched the Periscope videos last week where the motion capture was being filmed at Digital Domain, you know how brutal the kills in this game will be. There will be a lot more unveiled about the game as the year progresses. Meanwhile, check out the official website for more about Friday The 13th: The Game as we get closer to the October 2016 release date.

No matter what your feelings are about Jason Goes To Hell: The Final Friday, most fans agree the character Creighton Duke was a standout part of the film and one of the more fun characters created for the Friday The 13th franchise. Seeing as it can be rare to meet any of the stars from the film outside of Kane Hodder, yesterdays announcement was a real treat.

HorrorHound Weekend: Cincinnati takes place the weekend of March 18-20th at the Sharonville Convention Center and now veteran actor Steven Will be attending! Of course, Steven played Creighton Duke in the much maligned Jason Goes To Hell, but he also has been involved in a number of other genre projects, including his role as Mr. X in the earlier season of the X-Files as well as a smaller supporting role in the Sean Cunningham produced House.

Steven joins other Friday The 13th alumni Kane Hodder ( Jason Voorhees, Friday The 13th Part 7 - Jason X) and Ted White (Jason Voorhees, Friday The 13th: The Final Chapter, in his last convention appearance) for the fun weekend of stars and events. Make sure to visit www.horrorhoundweekend.com for all of the show information.

Sample Soundtrack/Art Book From Friday The 13th: The Game, Help Get Single Player Mode

Friday The 13th: The Game is in full swing with motion capture filming just completed a few weeks ago, and as Gun Media and Illfonic continue to animate and develop the game, fans are still clamoring for a single player mode. The Slasher Backer program currently has the funding at $823,704.20, but in order to have a single player mode, the funding for the game must reach $1,625,000. That is just about double the amount currently in hand, but fans can still help try to get to that lofty goal.

Part of the Slasher Backer campaign allows fans to purchase the CD soundtrack and physical art book for the game. Costs are $18 and $49 respectively and can be purchased along with many other perks at the Slasher Backer site. You can sample the mock-ups for the items below as well as listen to a sample of Harry Manfredini's score for the game!

According to the guys at Gun Media (via an interview at PAX South last week), if a Single Player mode was achieved, the game would more than likely have to be delayed a few months from the scheduled October 2016 date. That would be a small price to pay for the large number of fans who have been begging for this mode since the game's announcement last year. If you haven't already, please make sure to pre-order your copy of Friday The 13th: The Game today and pick up any number of perks in the Slasher Backer program to help make the Single Player mode a reality.

Look for more news on the game upcoming in the next few months and we will be sure to post about the progress as it becomes available.

Why We Love 'Friday the 13th: The Series'

$

It’s the eternal questions we ask ourselves – why are we here? What is our purpose? Why am I not watching Friday The 13th: The Series, an underrated treasure and unfairly forgotten television classic? You are out of excuses not to befriend Micki, Jack, and Ryan, so I’ve listed just a few of the reasons you should watch one of the most creative, fun, insane, and overlooked shows ever to hit the airwaves.

It’s free on Amazon Prime. That’s right, if you are an Amazon Prime subscriber, all three seasons are complete and totally free. If you aren’t, you can easily buy all three seasons for around $15 each. That’s less than a dollar an episode to see what happens with all of the cursed antiques that Uncle Lewis sold. You know those cornrows you were going to have put in your hair this weekend? Spend your money on these DVDs instead. You’ll be happier and won’t look like Juliette Lewis at the 1992 Oscars.

Ryan’s sweaters. Ryan Dallion was a champion of men’s cardigans, only rivaled by the great Mr. Rogers. From his nautical-themed anchor sweater in “The Pirates Promise” to the yellow-and-black front, skating-scene back in “Scarecrow” (at least that’s what it looked like to me, although it also looked like Santa or the leg lamp from “A Christmas Story”), Ryan wore his sweaters loud and proud. There was no time to have Tim Gunn question his fashion choices, he had to stop evil and stay warm in those Canadian winters!

Nostalgia. Ever long for a simpler time, when Mom-and-Pop video stores were open and you listened to Debbie Gibson’s “Electric Youth” cassette on your Sony walkman? Micki, Ryan, and Jack had to look things up – in books! – to find out information. There was no Google to light their path. All the detective work they did, researching and locating the cursed antiques, was done without cell phones, GPS, iPods, Instagram, Facebook, the pony express, MapQuest, or whatever new-fangled contraptions we have at our disposal today. It was a different time, before we gave trophies to everyone just for participating; when the world’s most famous robot wasn’t Wall-E but Vicki from “Small Wonder.”

There are some terrifying episodes.Because of its syndicated nature and late-night airing, the show flew under the radar of the censors for awhile, resulting in a more than a few nightmare-inducing episodes. The titular monster in “Scarecrow” is ghastly and horrifying. The talking-and-stalking Veda doll of “The Inheritance” will make you throw away your Betsy Wetsy collection. The apiary in “The Sweetest Sting” is nowhere you’d want to be captured. The ghoulish Negleys in “The Long Road Home” own the creepiest farmhouse this side of “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre”. These are just some of the examples of the horrible baddies and boogeymen that Micki, Ryan, and Jack had to face. Jessica Fletcher never had to battle a scythe-wielding scarecrow in “Murder, She Wrote” to solve a mystery, although I suspect Angela Lansbury could secretly be a ninja assassin quite capable of smacking a scarecrow down.

Each episode (and antique) has its own backstory. Whereas the running theme of the show was the retrieval of the cursed antiques, there were very few rules for each -- don’t get them wet, don’t feed them after midnight, and don’t expose them to bright lights. No, wait, that’s the Gremlins. Either way, the antiques were only bound by the rules that they were evil and could not be physically destroyed. But each individual curse and story was unique. Sometimes the person it belonged to was already evil; other times, they were taken over by it, perhaps to gain something they wanted. The villains weren’t always cold-blooded and unsympathetic, like Rachel in “Crippled Inside” or Leslie in “What a Mother Wouldn’t Do”. Some curses were very specific to the user, while others could easily change hands and it wouldn’t matter. But the writers took the time to craft thoughtful backstories to what those curses were and how they affected their owner.

It’s ahead of its time. Do you enjoy mystery, suspense, gore, characters you can root for, and bloody special effects? Welcome, we have all that here. Before the great Mulder and Scully, the loyal Buffy gang, and the criminally-underrated “She-Wolf of London”, Micki, Jack, and Ryan worked this beat -- not “beat” as in a DeBarge video, but like a detective would say it; there were no choreographed dance sequences here. The episodes had a formula based on questions – what is the cursed object, who has it, where can they find it, and how do they get it back? Rinse and repeat. There weren’t shows about the supernatural at the time, especially ones featuring graphic violence and references to the occult. This show paved the way for the ones that followed, whether it’s acknowledged or not. Kind of like how my elderly neighbor Mr. Costello always farts in the elevator but then doesn’t acknowledge it. I know it was you, Mr. Costello! Okay, that’s a terrible example, but you get where I’m going with this. Friday the 13th: The Series deserves credit for paving the way for the 1990s mystery-supernatural hybrid shows, and it never once farted in an elevator.

Helen Mackie. There is no more amazing character in the history of the world. Sorry, Kindergarten Cop and Dr. Giggles, you don’t get to be number one anymore. Helen shows up in “Vanity’s Mirror” -- all pimples and bad attitude and sour demeanor. She has a sweet sister that she doesn’t appreciate, all the while coveting her sister’s beau. Oh, and she owns a cursed vanity that makes men fall madly in love with her; then she kills them with about as much thought as she’d give to having Bill and Ted’s Excellent Cereal for breakfast. You have not experienced the true joy and horror of the late 1980s until you see Helen in her prom dress. Michael Bolton’s Christmas album won’t seem so scary anymore once you’ve lived through that.

Remember to think twice about buying that used door stopper on Craiglist or those antique toothpicks on eBay. Uncle Lewis might have owned them first.

Go – right now – and find these episodes and experience the magic, wonder, and awesomeness that you have been missing all these years. Don’t come back until you are at least halfway through the first season. Good day, sir or ma’am. I said good day!

Fan art that represents not only Friday The 13th, but the horror genre as a whole is always satisfying to view. Knowing that someone took the time to create a unique piece to show off their love of film characters is truly appreciated and very much welcomed.

Jean Paul Medellin is an artist from the Czech Republic and is one of those fans that has expressed his love of horror in a new illustration that has a number of famous screen villains in pint size form on their way to grade school at Crystal Lake Elementary. We have Jason Voorhees leading the pack of horror icons and on their way to school they pass by Norman Bates' house. Jean Paul has also created small backstories for each of the grade school slashers.

-Jason is the defacto leader of the group, always the adventurer, ready to jump to an adventure, specially in the forest, he loves them. (after Jason Voorhees from Friday The 13th)

-You can have J without his best friend, Freddy, the prankster of the group, always with dark circles below his eyes, he's such a maniac of watching movies at night.(after Freddy Krueger from Nightmare on Elm Street)

-Mike is a huge fan of Halloween, always eager to trick or treat, and for a strange reason, he really likes to use a clown costume.(after Michael Myers from Halloween)

-Tommy is the biggest of the group, he's not to happy with the math assignments, but whenever sport are involved, he's your man...well, kid he he. And boy does he loves beef! (after Leatherface from Texas Chainsaw Massacre)

-Elliot is always solving rubic cubes, every day he's getting better at it, one time he even said that he would like to create a cube of his own (after Pinhead from Hellraiser)

-The inventor of the group, you can count that John is helping Tommy with his math homework, and trying to make the rest of the gang to play a game with him. (after Jigsaw from Saw)

-Murphy is a big fan of Star Wars, huge, his biggest dream is to become a member of legion 501, he even has Elliot and John making him a helmet that will fit him. (after the xenomorph from Alien)

Final Girl Spotlight: Ginny Field! (Friday the 13th Part 2)

$

0
In her groundbreaking book Men, Women, and Chainsaws, author Carol Clover coins the phrase “final girl” – not only that, but also she notes that it isn’t necessarily the most virginal girl who survives, but the girl who is most aware of her surroundings. The final girl’s friends are preoccupied with sex, drugs, rock-and-roll, and parties where they’ll dress like Kris Kross and play Mall Madness board games and watch Did You Hear About the Morgans? (Wait – not everybody does that? Note to self – this is why people don’t come to my parties.) By contrast, the heroine is the first one to notice that something is not quite right – like a door that was closed is now swinging open or somebody wearing white after Labor Day.

Ginny Field (Amy Steel) in Friday The 13th Part 2 is the perfect example of the non-virginal final girl. She’s a fan favorite of the series and a capable adversary for Jason’s shenanigans. (That is, if “shenanigans” means stalking nubile teens and murdering them in gruesome ways, rather than something innocuous like not changing the TP roll or tearing the tag off a mattress.)

Ginny is pretty, smart, and feisty without being unapproachable -- the kind of girl you’d definitely want to be friends with. She’s unaware of her beauty and doesn’t play along with the semi-alpha behavior of her pseudo-boyfriend Paul (John Furey). She’s a leader, an athlete, and wields a mean chainsaw (first for sawing wood, but later to defend herself against Jason’s attack). If the spectrum of outstanding women runs from Agent Scully (the highest) to the Kardashians (the lowest), Ginny is a Scully. She doesn’t have supernatural fighting ability like Buffy or ninja training like The Bride in Kill Bill, but she’s got her wits, intelligence, and ability to comprehend the bloody, unreal situation she’s in. Amy Steel’s performance as Ginny is the perfect balance of spiritedness, intelligence, good nature, humor, and pluck. You can always tell there’s something going on in Ginny’s mind, which she uses to her advantage in the film’s memorable climax.

Ginny works as Paul’s second-in-command at a summer camp counselor’s training seminar in the woods not too far away from Camp Crystal Lake, a.k.a. Camp Blood, the site of the original’s massacre. Mrs. Voorhees has been killed, and now the local legend of bag-headed Jason Voorhees haunts the area. Paul tells the story to the counselors at the campfire, and Ginny isn’t convinced. She knows there’s more to the legend of Jason; he’s not a ghost or a myth or a phantom.

Ginny takes this legend seriously, something her counterparts don’t do. While Paul and Ted (Stu Charno) laugh off her earnest breakdown of Jason’s mental capacity and state of mind, she utilizes her child psychology degree and delves into what the real life Jason must be like. When she is trapped in Jason’s shack in the woods, which was clearly not decorated by Martha Stewart, she assesses the situation and dons his dead mother’s sweater, deceiving his childlike mind into believing she is his mother so she can kill him and escape.

It’s her perceptiveness that helps her survive. When she and Paul return to camp after a night at the bar, she is the one to realize something’s not right in the darkened room. While Paul investigates in the dark, the minute she enters, she feels it, upon which she utters the infamous line, “There’s someone in this fucking room!”

Ginny Field, you earned your survival with a mix of brains and brawn. She fought back valiantly using both, including a dead-on kick right in Jason’s bojangles. Hopefully Ginny went on to get that degree, is now a doctor with a thriving practice, and has no nightmares about the night Jason returned to camp.

Marijuana And The Friday The 13th Films!

It just wouldn’t be a relaxing camping trip at Crystal Lake (or Forest GREEN) without the pungent aroma of sticky-icky reefer wafting through the air.  Since the very first installment, our favorite franchise breathes in and out a rather progressive take on the imbibing of Colombian Gold, man.   Grass, hash, the weed, dig it?

While certainly illegal inside the jurisdiction of this cursed summer campground, marijuana has enjoyed an intoxicating role in the world of our beloved franchise.  Whether it was to get in the mood, relieve boredom, or just to mellow out, Mary Jane should be considered another character in the films.  In this look back at the Friday the 13thfranchise, we examine the use of the bubonic chronic that makes you choke.  Sh*t, this ain’t no joke. (My apologies to Snoop Dogg.)

In the realm of the first four films, we are introduced to a group of randy, young teenagers who took great delight in twisting it up and putting it in the air.  Whether playing strip monopoly or taking it easy after getting lucky, the counselors of the original movie were ready to put some “kush up in it” decades before Dr. Dre made that phrase popular.  Remember in its sequel when Paul Holt, God’s gift to camp counselors, was almost indignant that the underlings he was training “smoke better dope than I do”?   One must also respect the steadfast resolve demonstrated by Mark to refrain from having a toke with Vickie, as to not derail his athletic training regimen.   A lot of good that did.  Later, in Friday The 13th Part 3, Chuck and Chili bring a brick of dank cheeba swag with them to Higgin’s Haven.  Does anyone else reading this take great delight in the irony that after all the sparking of joints throughout the movie, it is really Jason himself who SPARKS one up when he hurls Chuck face first into the electrical panel?  Who could forget during the Final Chapter when sexually frustrated Ted (Teddy Bear) Cooper unwinds with some ganja and silent film smut before finding himself on the business end of Jason’s butcher knife?

A New Beginningnot only introduced a killer masquerading as Mr. Voorhees, it also featured Lana’s doomed date Billy, who introduced his nose to a little booger-sugar before Roy cracked his cranium.   Even a few puffs of nice-nice couldn’t calm the raging storm brought on by the “damn enchiladas” in Damon’s digestive tract!

I know you all must have the munchies by now, so we will skip to the latest entries of the franchise.  Freddy Vs. Jason introduced us to the “Clerks” inspired Freeburg, whose trippy hallucination of the Freddy worm made us all wonder if our theater popcorn was topped off with a batch of cannabutter.  The 2009 reboot brought the entrepreneurial spirit out in force with Wade and Richie looking for a rumored bumper crop of potent purple haze tucked away in forbidden territory near the abandoned mine shafts.  Chewie and Lawrence have a deep conversation with “Lucille the Bong" and contemplate a reincarnated life as a button on the rear pocket of Bree’s jean shorts.  Donnie!  Alas, poor Donnie!  Another afternoon of self-medicating and self-pleasuring with his favorite Hustler magazine is cut short after Jason raids old man Garikes’ kerosene supply.

Yes, marijuana is just as important as machetes to the Friday the 13th films.  One hopes that the producers of the future Friday the 13th films and TV show recognize this, and keep that fatty facet burning and smoldering for years to come! Cough, cough.

Of course, your thoughts and comments are always welcome!

COMING SOON!   We will continue this topic with a ranking of the most memorable stoners of the franchise!

Director David Bruckner Discusses Friday The 13th Reboot On Killer POV Podcast

A few weeks ago we told our readers about a Fangoria interview with director David Bruckner, who recently dropped off of the in-development Friday The 13th reboot film. In that interview, David explains his involvement in  the project and what it was like to work on the film. Some of what he explained was the development of the mythos surrounding Jason Voorhees and the possibilities that presented for a new film. Also, for a brief moment, there was a story that took place in the 1980s, and was found footage.

Recently, David was a guest on the Killer POV podcast with hosts Rebekah McKendry, Rob Galluzzo and  Elric Kane and the trio discuss with the director his part in the new anthology film Southbound as well as his work on the Friday The 13th film. They retread some of what David discussed in the Fangoria interview, but he expounds upon past revelations to give an even more complete picture of what went down with this involvement in the project.

You can listen to the entire podcast episode below, or skip ahead to the part of the discussion that deals with Friday the 13th, which starts at the 1 hour and 20 minute mark.

For our readers that may not know, outside of being an accomplished writer and director of film and television, Tom McLoughlin is also a singer in his band The Sloths. His backstory is immersed in Hollywood history as he grew up in Tinseltown and hung around the old backlots of many famous film studios. He brought his love of old school Universal monster movies into the fray when he wrote and directed Jason Lives: Friday The 13th Part 6 and has always been a champion of his film and the Friday The 13th franchise.

With that in mind, it's time we pay it forward to him and let our readers know that his band has released their first music video for the song One Way Out. Check out the video below to see Tom in action on lead vocals and let us know what you think.

How 'Jason X' Saved The Friday The 13th Franchise

$

0
After the release (and subsequent failure) of Jason Goes To Hell in 1993, the landscape of the Friday the 13th franchise seemed scorched beyond repair. Critics and fans seemed to agree, for once, that the film was nothing short of an abomination. I, however, am not among them..but that is another article all together(which you can read here). And, while I cannot agree that the film is without it's merits, I can openly admit that it certainly didn't do us any favors. In fact, it put the proverbial nail in the coffin for the Voorhees family for nearly a decade.
You're welcome.
9 years. That's a long time, as far as sequels are concerned..long enough for mainstream audiences to forget all about every one's favorite masked maniac. Die hard fans like us were left with nothing else to do but speculate. Would we ever see another 'Friday' film? Would it pick up after JGTH? I mean, they TOTALLY meant to pick up with Jason and Freddy going toe-to-toe in the depths of Hell, right? And speculate, we did.

During the time, right at the birth of the internet, most folks turned to these new things called 'message boards' to share their interests and Friday the 13th fans were no different. F13 forums popped up all over the place, and each one had a special section dedicated to where fans thought the series should(or would) go next. I'm talking everything from theories to bonafide fan-fiction, all dedicated to the Big-Bad-J. They were rife with all sorts of wild rumors and crazy 'leaks'. There was one topic, though, that always came up..and it's not what you'd think. Three words. Jason. In. Space.

It was everywhere, too. Some sites even had whole sections specifically dedicated to fan-art for a cyborg version of Jason. No lie, and some of it was good stuff. Mostly, this was just because fans wanted more and we didn't necessarily care how we got it.

I won't bore you with all the incidentals, but eventually those forums slowly died out. As the years ticked by, everyone sort of just moved on. That was, until 2002. I'll never forget, I was sitting in the theater waiting on Blade 2 to start. The theater was mostly empty, and the very first trailer appeared on screen. Jason. In. Space. HOLY SHIT. Mind = Blown.
You loved it. I know you did.
Now, I'm not here to convince you this movie is good(maybe some other time). What I am here to say is this: Jason X single-handedly brought back this franchise from the brink of extinction.

What dreams we may have previously had about the glorious future of the series were all but dead, dragged to hell along with Jason in 1993. Jason X brought it back. Leaked set photos began pouring across the internet like wild fire. The TV-spots were all over the place. The hype was strong with this one, and when it opened nationwide the numbers were there to back it up. Sure, it may have tanked with critics, but the fact is Jason X made money. Not a whole lot by today's standards, but it made nearly it's entire budget back opening weekend alone. That is a feat that even the strongest blockbusters struggle with today.

More importantly, it proved to the executives that Jason still had a ways to go before he was done; that there was still money to be made, and fans to enjoy it..no matter how crazy it got. It told them to hurry up and put another movie on the fast track. Hell, we barely had to wait a year after Jason X for Freddy VS Jason. That's right. And to think, without Jason X, we may never have gotten that gore-fest.

It may not be the best, but without it we may have never gotten our hockey-masked best friend back. So, love it or hate it, just make sure to give it some credit.

Friday The 13th Villains: Charles McCulloch (Friday The 13th Part 8)

The Friday The 13th franchise is littered with characters that are sometimes more villainous than Pamela or her son Jason. Our continuing series of articles will focus on the villains of Friday The 13th not named Voorhees and their affect on those around them, along with the character's place among the most vile in the franchise.

A villain is an "evil" character in a story, whether a historical narrative or, especially, a work of fiction. The villain usually is the antagonist, the character who tends to have a negative effect on other characters. The Random House Dictionary defines a villain as "a cruelly malicious person who is involved in or devoted to wickedness or crime; scoundrel; or a character in a play, novel, or the like, who constitutes an important evil agency in the plot". Our next character certainly fits the bill in that respect.

Charles McCulloch is Rennie Wickman's uncle and legal guardian due to her parent's death. This overprotective and overbearing family member is one of the chaperons for the last graduating class of Crystal Lake High's Senior trip to New York in Friday The 13th Part 8: Jason Takes Manhattan. It isn't hard to dislike this character from the get go as his first introduction in the film shows how vile he is when he scolds Rennie for attending the cruise and gives an equally verbal berating to fellow trip chaperon Colleen Van Deusen. It only gets worse from there as he continually intimidates Rennie's potential flame Sean Robertson by talking down to him as he tries to put the S.S. Lazarus back on course. McCulloch even takes a shot at Sean when they are rowing to New York City in the life boat, stating, "We all don't want to drown out here". This is while he lays in the boat not helping to man an ore just one time to help row.

While looking for Rennie, McCulloch even takes time to take another shot at a student, this time he sets his sights on A/V geek Wayne. While the two talk about Rennie's whereabouts, Wayne makes the statement that some of the students may not want their future predicted. McCulloch says to Wayne, "In your case, I am sure that's true". What a jerk! With all that being said, Charles' true villainry is exposed when Rennie finally remembers and reveals that many years ago when she was a child, her uncle pushed her into Crystal Lake to teach her to swim, which caused her to almost drown.

Of course, McCulloch gets what he deserves when Jason Voorhees finally catches up with him and dumps him head first into a large drum of disgusting water and toxic materials. It was a fitting end to another villain in the franchise. What do you think of Charles and his place in the films? Is he the most vile person and truest villain in the franchise?

Meet Erich Anderson (Rob Dier, The Final Chapter) This March!

Erich Anderson is best known for his role in the Friday The 13th: The Final Chapter as Rob Dier. His character was the first to actively hunt down Jason Voorhees in an effort to avenge the death of his sister, Sandra Dier, in Friday the 13th Part 2 (skewered by a spear).

Of course, he failed miserably. His death goes down as one of the most tense and shocking moments in the series, not because of gore or special effects, but because of what the character says, "He's killing me!"

Erich was just recently announced exclusively on the Return To Camp Blood Podcast to be attending the HorrorHound Weekend show that takes place the weekend of March 18-20th at the Sharonville Convention Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. He joins other Friday The 13th alumni Kane Hodder ( Jason Voorhees, Friday The 13th Part 7 - Jason X), Ted White (Jason Voorhees, Friday The 13th: The Final Chapter, in his last convention appearance), and Steve Williams (Creighton Duke, Jason Goes To Hell) for the fun weekend of stars and events.

Friday The 13th: The Series centered around an antique shop in New Orleans called Curious Goods. The story would have the store owner struggling to make a profit and in turn selling his soul to the Devil in return for a successful business. The owner does indeed begin to receive great wealth from his deal with the Devil, but his greed would eventually cost him his life. After his death, the store would be given to his niece, and aided by her cousin, the duo would unknowingly begin selling off many of the cursed items. That was until a mysterious older man warned the family members of the evil that they had unleashed upon the world.

The series ran for three seasons and was filmed in various locations in Canada. One particular location was the Curious Goods shop, which can be found in Toronto, Ontario, and film location documentarian Robert Pattison recently found the shop and snapped some amazing pictures of what it looks like today.

The shop is now a men's clothing store called Gentil Uomo and the address is 19 Trinity Street, Toronto, Ontario and below are some great exterior and interior images of building. Take a look at the images below and make sure to visit Robert's film location site www.set-jetter.com for many looks at your favorite films and where they were shot.

Ted's 'Friday The 13th Part 2' Jason Mask Being Re-released This Halloween

One of the most iconic scenes in the Friday The 13th films is the campfire tale that Paul Holt tells his counselors-in-training about Jason Voorhees in Friday The 13th Part 2. The conclusion of that scene has prankster Ted scare everyone around the fire by appearing suddenly from the trees wearing a "Jason" mask and threatening the counselors with a spear. The mask is scene on time later in the film when Ted places it on top of the spear, which he leans against the wall in the main cabin. Later, Jason discards the mask to use the spear to dispatch of the couple Jeff and Sandra. Why Jason didn't switch to that crazy mask from his sack mask will never be known?

Ted's mask, called Fantome, was created by Be Something Studios and was something we wrote about a few years ago when it popped up in a mask collectors forum. The mask was discontinued in the early 90's during a company shake-up which saw the name change to Zagone Studios. Many collectors have spent a fair amount of money to track down and own the original mask or have replicas created. Now, however, the mask is making a comeback as Trick Or Treat Studios has partnered with Zagone to reproduce this classic 1980's mask.

You can pre-order the mask now at www.trickortreatstudios.com to own a very unique mask from the films outside of the many variations of hockey masks. Will you be getting this historic mask?

Thanks to Dread Central for the heads-up on this mask being released!
